ASK JESUS TO SHOW YOU TO WHOM YOU MAY BE AN ALONGSIDER
We encourage you to make the time to discover who your younger brother or sister may be. Jesus chose His disciples after a night of prayer:
"Shortly afterwards, Jesus went to a mountain to pray to God. He stayed there all night. The next day, Jesus called His disciples to Himself. He chose 12 of them and called them apostles."
(Luke 6 verse 12 and 13)
HERE ARE 5 CRITERIA FOR CHOOSING YOUR YOUNGER BROTHER OR SISTER:
Alongsider: 15 to 30-year-old.
Younger brother or sister: 10 to 25-year-old.
For security:
Boy - boy
Girl - girl.
About a 5 years age difference.
In this way, you can help your younger brother or sister 'get ahead' and share from your own experience.
Choose someone who is vulnerable.
Remember Jesus' preferential love for the poor and vulnerable.
The closer the better.
Your younger brother or sister should live no more than 5 minutes away.
You have permission.
You need permission from your parents/guardians and from the pastor/leader of your church.
